A store’s front entrance is never complete without a unique signage design; a giant sign that captures the vision of it’s owner. This logo was first designed to be a 12 ft. wide exterior backlit sign. After it’s completion, it was then embroidered onto polo shirts for employees, printed onto business cards, labels and inserted into the new store catalog. Researching the identities of competitors was priority one as their is a plethora of hobby store competition out in the world today and creating something completely original was very important to everyone.

Design:
After researching over 50 online hobby stores, their locations, their branded appearance and their clientele – it was determined that a badge shaped solution was the key to unlocking the originality of this business and separating it from all competition. More than a dozen concept sketches were presented before we finally chose this visual solution.

Production:
Generating the final artwork required drastic font modification – by merging just a few letters, removing key elements from some and arching others, we created an original text treatment and that made all the difference. Selecting a color scheme was the most challenging aspect to get approved, as we wanted to keep the colors to a minimum. But, sometimes that is just not possible. In the end we all decided that this multicolored solution was just too strong to cut any colors, so we agree on this eight color final.
